Q. I have poison ivy. Can this be used?
A. Absolutely! This is a great product for poison ivy. Mix this salve with a little bit of bentonite clay and it pulls the itch out. :)
Q. How often should I use this product?
A. This product is recommended for a short time only. Experts suggest not using comfrey cream for longer than 10 days in a row. You should also use it no more than four to six weeks in a year as a general guideline.

Q. I am pregnant. Can I use this product?
A. Children, elderly people, and pregnant or nursing women shouldn't use comfrey in any form.
Q. I have an open wound. Should I use this?
A. Please refer to our Calendula Salve for any open wounds. Never apply comfrey cream to broken skin or open wounds.
Q. Are there medical conditions that should be avoided?
A. Please do not use this product if you have liver disease, cancer, or are taking any medication that affects the liver.
Q. Can you eat comfrey?
A. This is not recommended. Ingesting any form of comfrey by mouth isn't recommended. It's considered unsafe, due to the pyrrolizidine alkaloids that comfrey contains. Though these are naturally occurring, they have been known to cause cancer, severe liver damage, and even death when you consume them.

Q. Is this oily?
A. This depends on the oil source that you use. The beeswax helps to cut the oily feel.
Q. What is the expiration date on this?
A. As a dry product, there is no expiration on it. Do be sure to store in a cool, dry space. Once it's mixed, you should get its full potency for about 90 days. It's still good after that, it just won't be as potent and you may want to apply more often.
Q. Why can't this be shipped internationally?
A. Unfortunately, because of the herbs, the package gets stopped at the border. Fortunately, these are herbs that can easily be found in most countries allowing you the opportunity to purchase them locally.
